Surgery Appointments

Appointments may be made by phoning the surgery on 01750 21674 during opening hours (8.30am to 6.00pm). we offer a mixture of appointments which can be made in advance as well as a number of appointments available for that day.

If you feel your problem is urgent and you need to be seen that day, you will either be allocated an appointment with the next available GP, or be offered the chance to discuss the problem on the phone with the duty doctor, who will then advise you accordingly.

The duty doctor will assess these calls and offer you what they feel is the most appropriate treatment. This may include being seen at the surgery that day, an appointment later in the week, an appointment with a different member of the team or advice over the telephone.

If you want to see a particular doctor this may increase the waiting time considerably.

If you know you will not be able to keep an appointment PLEASE LET US KNOW. If we know in good time the slot may be offered to someone with an urgent problem who needs to be seen that day.

House Calls / Visits

Very few conditions are made worse by a short journey. Consultations in the surgery allow Doctors more time to see patients and offer better facilities for examination. Several patients can be seen in the time it takes to do one house call.

If you feel you are unable to attend the surgery and need to be seen please phone the surgery as early as possible after 8.30am.

The duty doctor will assess the call and decide if, when and where a consultation should take place. They will often phone you back to further assess the problem so please leave a telephone number where you can be contacted and try to leave the line clear for the doctor to phone you.

Please remember it will be the duty doctor who will assess your call and visit and this may well not be your "normal" doctor.

The Out of Hours service provides emergency medical cover outside surgery opening hours. In an emergency phone nhs24 on 08454 24 24 24 between 6pm and 8am and all weekend.
